The New Mutants is an upcoming American horror movie, based on the Marvel Comics team and distributed by 20th Century Studios. This movie is directed by Josh Boone. Stars are Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga. The film was originally intended for release in April 2018. It had several additional release dates since it was first announced. The New Mutants is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 28, 2020. The New Mutants movie is based on graphic novel published in 1982 by Marvel Comics, introducing the superhero team the New Mutants. The comic was written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Bob McLeod.
The New Mutants Storyline
Five young mutants, who are just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves. The name of mutants and their abilities are as follows.
Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane is a scottish mutant who has power to get turned into a wolf and is struggling to reconcile this with her religious beliefs.
Illyana Rasputin / Magik is a Russian mutant with sorcery powers and has ability to manifest the Soulsword and use teleportation discs to travel. Illyana is the sister of Colossus, a member of the X-Men seen in previous films in the series.
Sam Guthrie / Cannonball is an American mutant who can propel himself into the air, and is invulnerable while doing so.
Cecilia Reyes is a mentor to the group and a medical doctor who can generate protective fields around herself.
Danielle Moonstar / Mirage is a Native American mutant and is capable for creating illusions based on the fears and desires of other people.
Roberto da Costa / Sunspot is a Brazilian mutant who can manipulate solar energy.
The film includes a love story between Rahne Sinclair and Danielle Moonstar.

The New Mutants Release date
The new mutants is scheduled to be released on August 28, 2020 (United States). It was originally set to be released on April 13, 2018. Then it was delayed to February 22, 2019, to avoid Deadpool 2, and then to August 2, 2019, to avoid Dark Phoenix. It was delayed to April 3, 2020, by Disney. Afterwards studio acquired Fox, and then removed from Disney's schedule in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney rescheduled the film for August 28, 2020.
